Architects are Taking Advantage of Digital Resources in 2020

TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2020 12:00 PM

Michael Smith, President and Owner of Michael Smith Architects, is a goTasker member with over 22 years of residential and commercial design experience in the tristate area. His small but powerful firm is making the necessary adjustments to continue serving its clients and, like many others, has seen the value in using digital resources.

“I think there’s going to be a new comfort level with video technology,” he said. “In-person meetings will still have their place, of course, but I think a lot of businesses in our industry are going to become more efficient by taking things online.”

Despite mentioning how business has slowed—especially in New York State—as a result of the shutdown, Michael has a positive outlook on the future of the industry and noted how our new way of life will present interesting opportunities.

“Connecticut is going to be in a good position later this year,” Michael said. “And with everyone staying at home, I think there will be a future impact on the overall design of homes. Our clients may want to include things like home offices that weren’t considered before.”

Learn more about Michael’s forward-thinking perspective at “Tools for Construction Today,” a goTasker webinar on May 19 where industry experts will share their thoughts and experiences facing the current challenges of 2020.
